It best represents the Chinese dragon, believed to control the weather and thus determine the country’s crop yield every year. Rayquaza is heavily associated with power and success. Also used as a symbol to represent imperial power in China. 6. WELSH DRAGON Charizard is the unforgettable Fire/Flying Pokemon voted as the most popular Generation I Pokémon. It is the only one aside from Mewtwo with two Mega Evolved forms. This Pokemon best represents the Welsh dragon, a Celtic Mythology figure known for its fierce yet benevolent character. Now a symbol of Wales's national flag. 7. SPLENDID LEAF FROGS Greninja—the ninja frog known for its swift movements and ability to throw water stars that cut through metal. This water/dark Pokemon most resembles the Splendid Leaf Frogs. These Central American amphibians are recognizable for their bluish-green coloring and golden stripes. Just like Greninja, they are nocturnal and thrive in moist habitats. 8. BARN OWL Speaking of nocturnal, we have Rowlet next. This chunky fella hides underneath some sharp feathers thrown at opponents during battle. A dual-type grass/flying Pokemon that best resembles the barn owl, which are also known for their round faces and nocturnal lifestyle. Their feathers in contrast are extremely soft to help them hunt silently at night. 9. GODZILLA Tyranitar is one of the nine pseudo-legendary Pokémon and the only Pokémon in general to have a dual-type Rock/Dark combination. This character mostly resembles the prehistoric sea monster Godzilla, known to emerge from the depths of the Japanese sea due to nuclear radiation. Both Tyranitar and Godzilla are known for their immense power and they are also known for taking their time in terms of speed. 10. CHEETAH In contrast to a low speed stat, our next Pokemon Jolteon has the highest base Speed stat of all Evolutions. This Lightning Pokemon best represents the cheetah, the fastest land animal in the world. Both share a similar coat color and the phrase “lightning speed”. 11. DEVIL FROG Bulbasaur is one of the three classic starter Pokemon that later transforms into the formidable Venusaur—and a fan favorite for a reason. It evolves relatively faster than other Pokemon and is extremely easy to care for. Bulbasaur is based on the Devil frog, a prehistoric frog that lived 70 million years ago and believed to have weighed a whopping 4.5 kg! 12. GREAT HAMMERHEAD SHARK Next is a pseudo-legendary Pokemon known for flying at the speed of sound, Garchomp. If that was not impressive enough, Garchomp also has the highest base HP stat amongst the nine pseudo-legendary Pokémon.
