Madagascar is full of wild animals and entertaining characters. However, it can be difficult to tell how old the animals are just by looking at them. After noticing that, we decided to take character heights and use them as a rough estimate for their age. This list is mostly made of male characters with some females mixed in.

ANALYSIS OF MADAGASCAR CHARACTERS’ HEIGHTS
The main characters’ heights are taken from Madagascar Information and History, while some are gathered from Madagascar Fandom. For the Penguins — Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, and Private, their heights are calculated based on Pitbull music video “Celebrate”, comparing each height of the Penguin from Pitbull.
ANALYSIS OF MADAGASCAR CHARACTERS’ AGES
It’s difficult to tell the ages of the characters, but here’s our best guess. We took some information from the Madagascar Wiki. Let’s start with the oldest character, Maurice. She was having a mid-life crisis when she first appeared in the movie. According to Dreamworks Wiki, she was born on October 25, 1952.
A cut scene in one of the movies revealed that Mort is actually 35. Thus, he is now around 51 years old. Being a mouse lemur, he’s going to look like a baby forever – which possibly explains why he’s so mentally messed up.
Among the four penguins, Skipper seems to be the oldest, while Private is the youngest. This was confirmed by the writer, Bob Schooley.
The movie opens on Marty’s 10th birthday (middle-aged for a zebra). He is also said to have the same age as Gloria and Melman, who have known each other since childhood.
