WHAT IS NINA’S WORLD ABOUT?

Nina’s World was a Canadian American flash animation series that premiered in 2015 and ended in 2018. It was a prequel to Sprout TV Network’s The Good Night Show, and it featured the life of a six-year-old Latina named Nina, who goes on adventures in the city of Chicago. She learns and tries new things, and at the end of each episode, she prepares for bed and goes to sleep after all the adventures.

#1 NINA SABRINA FLORES

Nina in Nina’s World was the younger version of the adult host on The Good Night Show. According to IMDb, the older Nina was played by Michele Lepe, who hosted the bedtime show for almost 11 years. In Nina’s World, Lepe had a role as Mami’s voice actor.

#2 STAR

The big bright yellow Star was Nina’s companion in all her adventures. It is also a younger 2D version of The Good Night Show’s co-host, Star the puppet.

#3 ABUELITA

Nina’s grandmother, Abuelita, was voiced by the veteran Puerto Rican actress Rita Moreno. Amazingly enough, Moreno looks so much like Nina’s loving grandmother with her silver hair and round glasses.

#4 CHELSEA B.

Chelsea, Nina’s best female friend, had orange hair and freckles. The show’s producers might not have told us where Chelsea’s character was based, but her resemblance with the young Lindsay Lohan in the 1998 film, The Parent Trap is uncanny. They look so much alike that we can’t help but wonder if she was the model for Chelsea.

Nina’s mother was voiced by none other than the older Nina herself, Michelle Lepe. Like Mami, Lepe is now happily married and has two children.

#6 TIO JAVIER

Tio Javier was Nina’s favorite uncle, and he was a musician. Among the actors with shoulder-length hair who love wearing Panama hats, Tio resembles the versatile actor Johnny Depp. Like Tio, Depp is also a musician and very talented at that.

#7 CARLOS

Carlos is Nina’s best male friend and Nico’s younger brother. He wears green shirts and eyeglasses.

#8 PAPI FLORES

Papi, or Mr. Flores, is Nina’s father. He wears blue shirts as casual wear and looks a lot like Michael Peña and former president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto.
