1. COOKIECUTTER SHARK
We’re starting with an interesting species of shark. As seen in the series, the Cookiecutter shark feeds on the whale’s fatty tissue. According to Oceana, this behavior is true since the Cookiecutter shark is a parasitic species. Therefore, it feeds off on larger animal’s skin without killing them.
2. DWARF LANTERN SHARK
Next, the Dwarf Lantern Shark amazed us in the series with its tiny size and remarkable ability to illuminate its skin. In real life, the Dwarf Lantern Shark is the smallest shark species ever found. 4. GREAT WHITETIP SHARK
Moving on, the Great Whitetip Shark is another top predator you need to watch out for. From the Ocean Conservancy website, we have read that this shark is an opportunistic feeder as it preys on any creatures that cross its way, and yes, it even attacks human beings.
5. WHALE SHARK
The Whale Shark is known for its gigantic size yet gentle personality. According to the WWF website, the Whale Shark can grow up to12 meters long and is recognized as the “gentle giant.” Also, its teeth are small. That’s why it is a filter feeder that preys primarily on small shrimps, planktons, and small creatures.
6. SWELL SHARK
Lastly, the Swell Shark is known for its interesting way of pushing its predators away. As revealed by the BBC One website, this shark swallows a tremendous amount of water to make itself swell, preventing the predators from eating the shark.
