We’re all aware that every aircraft is enormous when we compare it to a regular size of an adult person. So to give you an idea of what an average-sized US fighter jet looks like, here’s an aircraft that stands right in the middle of the smallest to the biggest list of fighter planes the USAF has operated.

The F-15 Eagle is an all-weather tactical fighter in service since 1974. According to USAF’s website, the F-15 Eagle measures 63.8 feet long and 18.5 feet tall, with a wingspan of 42.8 feet.

To put things into perspective, an average-sized fighter aircraft of the USAF measures as long as a bowling lane, as tall as two Christmas trees, and a wingspan as wide as two giraffes laid down.
