1. CHILD
Although prematurely born, he was found compatible with the one-tailed beast, which led him to become a Jinchuuriki. As a child, he’s already able to control his sand.

Gaara would also try to befriend the children of the village. However, he, unfortunately, ended up hurting them. 2. C HUNIN EXAMS
By this time, Gaara shifted his focus towards himself, which allowed him to improve his sand skills. Following all this, Gaara became Suna’s strongest weapon. He then carried a gourd around, which contained Shukaku’s sand. As a genin, he cleared the forest of death within a short time, which is unheard of for Chuunin examinees. Gaara also beat Rock Lee in a one-on-one battle, crushing his left arm and leg. When fighting Sasuke during the exam, he nearly lost control and let out Shukaku.
3. INCOMPLETE TRANSFORMATION
Gaara starts transforming into the one-tailed beast during his battle against Sasuke in the forest. He also begins to exhibit more signs of aggression. He would later fight against Naruto, and as the fight continued, more features of Shukaku appeared, covering Gaara’s body.
4. Shukaku Released
Taken down by Naruto’s barrage of attacks and his denial of losing to him, he transforms into Shukaku. Gaara would later lose consciousness. After this, Shukaku finally took over.
5. 5TH KAZEKAGE
Emulating Naruto after losing to him, Gaara became the Kazekage in Naruto Shippuden. This time, he is wiser and stronger, which made people deeply admire him. Gaara would also find himself under attack by Deidara and Sasori of the Akatsuki, who had a task to capture him to extract the one-tailed beast. The pair was successful because Gaara ended up being taken.
6. FOURTH GREAT NINJA WAR
Chosen as one of the war commanders, Gaara leads and protects his allies against their enemies. During this period, he fights against his reanimated father, the 4th Kazekage. After defeating him, Gaara hears from his father, who said that he approves of his capabilities and how far he has come. Later, Gaara would fight against Madara along with four other Kage’s.
