Min Of “Octonauts” In Real Life

As the new season of Octonauts was announced, we will be graced with a promising and interesting character! With that said, let’s get to know the mapmaker, Min of Octonauts in real life.

Min is known to be a red panda because of her reddish-brown fur, round head, and a short snout with big ears.  She is also professor Inkling’s old friend who came from China. In reality, this information is accurate.

From what we have read from the China Highlight website, China, especially the Southwestern provinces, is the homeland of the red panda. This animal prefers higher altitude habitats, which means that it likes the colder temperatures.

Min might be a friendly red panda in the series, but real-life red pandas are actually solitary creatures. They are also nocturnal and are primarily active between dusk and dawn. As they spend their lives mostly on trees, their tails play an essential role. They use their bushy tail as a balancing-agent when moving from tree to tree. Additionally, as much as they love the cold, wrapping their tails around them helps them regulate their temperature.

You might have seen Min with her bag that contains a map. Well, it’s because she’s an expert mapmaker, earning her the name Min the Mapmaker. We can relate this to the fact that red pandas are “escape artists.” According to the Mental Floss website, most zoo red pandas from Germany, London, and the U.S.A have escaped from their enclosures. Well, it looks like red pandas can star on the Prison Break T.V. series.

This creature didn’t fail to surprise us. Red pandas are good at camouflaging as well. With their russet-colored body, they can easily blend in with the red-brown moss trees around their habitat. This strategy keeps them from their vicious predators.

Another notable thing about red pandas, which Min showed, is that they possess fantastic acrobatic skills.  Their claws enable them to grip on trees, while their tails give them a balanced movement. Additionally, these animals know how to have fun in their habitat; they love to sunbathe while perched on the tree.
