Octonauts is a British children’s television series based on the children’s book written by Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy. This series is so famous that it got a part 2. With that, here are the Octonauts characters in real life.


1. RIVER DOLPHIN

The first character on our list is the helpful river dolphin. In the show, Berta helped Barnacles find the Octo-Compass. Real dolphins are also very helpful. They are known to be one of the most beneficial mammals. 2. BARRELEYE

The animated version of this character is way more adorable than real barrel-fish. While these animals do have transparent heads, as portrayed in the show, their bodies are more boxy in real life. Their eyes are also more creepy and bright green.


3. OARFISH

With snowy white skin and red spikes, the show’s oarfish looks very different from the real species; because the real ones appear creepy and quite spine-chilling. As you can see from the pictures, these fish don’t look as happy and cheerful as the animated versions.   


4. SARDINES

Both versions also have a plantigrade stance, which means they walk on the soles of their feet. 


6. BUNNY

This engineer is one of the smartest and skilled characters of the show. Her primary role is to ensure the order in the engine room. Tweak is also responsible for the maintenance of the Octonauts vehicles. The bunny loves to fix and invent things. Generally speaking, these animals are smart. 8. DACHSHUND

It is time to move the spotlight to the sweet and kind Dashi. You can observe the character often listening to music through her pink earphones and taking pictures in the show. With her long ears and brown fur, Dashi is a Dachshund dog. Now that we got that straight Let us briefly discuss the characteristics of this breed of dogs. 11. CORAL POLYP

12. BLUEHEAD WRASSE

Immortality seems to be an impossible power to humans. However, Dorian the Immortal Jellyfish was born to possess this power. According to the AMNH website, when the Immortal Jellyfishes were injured, they can transform back into a polyp and be born-again. However, once their predator eats them, their “immortality” ends.


14. SURGEONFISH

Sammy, as a Surgeonfish, possesses spikes that protect her against her enemies.
